But just really adds more reason's for my long PASSIONATE HATE for this organization.

The Celtics are so confident about the '09-'10 season that when you look up into the rafters, you will see 17 banners representing the team's 17 NBA titles. But during Boston's media day recently, everyone in attendance noticed a blank 18th banner hanging next to their '08 Championship banner. Apparently this Celtic's squad is a very confident bunch that hope to be adding some letters and numbers to that banner reading "2010 NBA Champions." When head coach Doc Rivers was asked about the blank banner, he replied,"It was Red Auerbach's idea", referring to the now deceased Boston coaching legend.

Dude's are so full of themselves and still act like their the defendings champs this season.

KG making guarantee's that C's will win the next 2 championships.

Paul "The Faker" Pierce making comments on twitter this off season saying this " After the series was over, he tweeted, "Looked like aGerman shepherd vs. a poodle".

Then turns around makes excuses for coming up short last season:

"Before the season even started last year, I was asked, 'What is going to stop y'all from winning it all?' " Pierce said in a phoneinterview on Thursday. "The first thing I said was, 'If we're healthy, we're going to win it all.' And I'm going to say it again:'If we are healthy, we are going to win it all.'
"I honestly believe that. I think we're the best team in the NBA, healthy."

OK. Now its official. Since I know my team (the Clippers) is not going to win it all this year, I'll be happy as long as any team other than the Celticswins it. The blank banner thing just continues the Celtics' long and storied history of lameness and hateability.

Before the '07-'08 season, they left a blank space next to the '86 banner with a spotlight shining on the empty space. It's just a motivationalthing, that's all. Nothing more, nothing less. I hate this expression but it's really not that serious.

It reminds me of that kid in school crying for attention. Just let your play do the talking. Had they won last year they would have a right to do that, whydidn't they do it before last year? Maybe it's foreshadowing

What more motivation do you need than to be on top of the basketball world as elite, as the best? I believe it might be a reminder type thing but motivational?If Boston needs this to motivate them there is something wrong. The only motivation a true champion needs is the will to win!

Btw, we will be hanging a real banner, one with writing on it, signifying that we are the Champions.

As for the Celtics doing this, it's funny but it isn't surprising. I remember them doing that spotlight thing last season
