Whats up Windy City NTers,

I'm applying for this job with Merrill Lynch as an Analyst/Intern on the Futures/Commodities desk in Chicago, already worked in the NY office as an intern, and am still in school, and hoping to get the interview on the 27th.

The address of the office is...

1 North Wacker Drive

Suite 1900
Chicago, IL 60606

What part of Chicago is that considered, the Loop or what?
I am just trying to make my apt. search easier, and any help will be helpful.
thanks in advance, and how much do typically studios, or 1 & 2 bedroom apts go for in that area.

Yes. That is within the loop. It's in the middle of the west side of the loop right next to the Chicago river, the cross street just off the cuff isprobably monroe or madison. An apt. within the loop is going to probably set you back probably $1400-1600+ for a small one bedroom if not more. Now you couldprobably find under a mile away (walking distance or so) for maybe at the lowest $1,200+ for a one bedroom.

To save some money, just go right outside the actual Loop where everything is cheaper and still really close.

seriously, save yourself a ton of money by getting a place outside of the loop and taking advantage of the train. good luck.

The real reason you don't want to live in the loop is it's dead after about 6pm. Other than handful of stores on State St. and handful of restaurantseverything in the Loop closes. It's a business center not neighborhood, while it's certainly changing more and more. It really only serves theconnivence of being close to working the loop. If you're going to live in downtown, Gold Coast, Streeterville, and River North are the neighborhoods youwant, otherwise I would suggest live near a redline stop either south of Addison or north of Roosevelt to be close and have somewhat cool/convenientneighborhood..
