chinese new years

does all the other asian people(vietnamese koreans and whoever else im missing) celebrate it get offended when you or somebody says chinese new years instead of lunar new year? i mean growing up it was called chinese new years and taught that way i elementary ... inputs or does this clash with logic and etc which does not belong NT ..

But i do know a few asian friends (who arent Chinese, obviously) get offended when ppl ONLY refer to this celebration as the CHINESE New Year.
