Chris Paul's Down Year Appreciation Thread.

He is the bread and butter of the team so naturally, he takes precedence over others getting shots. Again, I don't get to watch many Bulls games, but I've actually seen quite a few this year, including the Christmas day game when I was live in attendance. The Bulls would have been blown out had it not been for Rose (and Boozer) because no one else could buy a bucket. I used to say the same thing watching A.I.

You really gotta watch more Bulls games. Even though the ball always touches his hands, Rose really doesn't dominate the ball compared to someone like Nash or Rondo. A lot of times he will give the ball up before even crossing mid court or in the half court set his teammates will pass to him and he will hot potato that joint to another teammate. He "passes" a lot more than he assists and keeps his team involved in the game by giving them a chance to create. Nash is like the AI of assists. He will give the ball up when he's trapped and immediately call for it right back so that he can set someone up, his dimes are inflated because almost no one else has a chance to create on that team. Rondo is the same but not as bad. Rose just has a different style of playing QB

Inflated dimes from Nash?

I thought him playing with Paul was going to be HUGE.  But it hasn't panned out.

As i've said in other threads, you can't have Paul be the best PG in the game, and then 20 games later, change your mind.  That's stupid.  Paul and Deron are 1 and 1A in whichever order you feel.  Then you have Rose, Westbrook and Rondo playing insane basketball this year, but they haven't done it as long as CP3 and D-Will have.  It takes time to "be the best" so to speak".

Arguing like this over a shortened period of time is a lot like seeing a player go for 30 and 30 in a game, and saying "RIGHT NOW, HE IS THEE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA, BAR NONE!!"

Looks foolish don't it?

Counting 20-30-35 games is equally foolish.

Rose and his peers do this for 2-3 years straight, then they can be elevated a few notches, IF Paul and Williams aren't matching their production as we've all come to expect.  Will Rose and Wall at some point surpass them?  Sure, it could happen.  Has it happened the first 3 months of this season?  NO.

So you're saying that on a kick out or to make a shot (non lay-up) for the game you'd rather have CP take it over Deron???

he's looking at the stats ... he doesn't watch the games ... leave him to his opinion ... as silly as it is ...

i have silly ones too but deron is def. a better shooter

Yeah, how stupid of me to think that a guy shooting 46% on threes and 90% from the line is one of the best shooters in the league.

But see, this it the problem we're having CP. I don't believe anyone is saying Rose's career > Chris Paul or Deron's career.
That's not what people are saying ... we're saying RIGHT NOW, Rose is playing better ball.

As a whole, yes, career wise, Kobe > Lebron ... but RIGHT NOW, Lebron is playing better ball than Kobe.

I think people in this thread are getting so caught up in what CP3 has done for YEARS, instead of looking at the present ...

I stand on what I said then today... Nothings changed in my opinion. 10 out of 10 I'm going to elect Deron to shoot that shot over Chris.  10/10

Going on percentages is misleading sometimes.

Yea, cP3 shoots 48 percent from three.  Kobe shoots 32 percent from three.

I'd lean more on Kobe in a clutch situation.

Forget about the clutch situation part though, crazy dav0 was saying Deron is a flat out better shooter, clutch situation or not.
