I remember one time when I was in high school I went to the mall with my pal during Christmas time. His mom dropped us off. We were at Sam Goody browsing the Rap/R&B section and I started looking at a Blackstreet CD and was like, "Man... I love No Diggity" and I started to hum the guitar riff. I put the CD back and my boy grabbed it and said, "I'm gonna buy this for you." I started blushing and urged him not to do that. It was no use because he was Korean and whatever he put his mind to he was going to do it. So we left the store and he handed me the bag and told me "Merry Christmas, Eduardo" (that's my name). I knew I had to return the favor so a few moments later as were walking into the Macy's I told him I needed to take a leak. He was like alright, I'll come with you. I told him frantically, "No, no, no, no, no" because what I really intended to do was go back to Sam Goody and buy him a CD he would like. He backed off and we agreed to meet back up in front of the huge gumball machine. I marched back up to Sam Goody and, in a haste, snatched Mobb Deep's sophomore album from the shelf. I figured there's no way 2 dudes are going to exchange R&B albums with each other on Christmas so I balanced out our gangsta with some of QB's finest. As I came down the escalator he gazed up at me from the gumball machine and I shoved the bag into his chest, looked both ways, and then mumbled as low as possible "Murrychrsmis". Looking back it turned out to be a shaping moment in my life. That dude taught me true friendship.
