Cliff Lee Trade Rumor Thread

If we get him, once he sees how solid our organization is through and through, I say we sign him and keep him. I hope it gets done.

And if I'm Minnesota, I try really hard to make a deal that doesn't include Gibson. Besides a small hiccup of three mediocre starts, Kyle Gibson has been lights out and overpowering at times. I just wish Glen Perkins had pitched well so far in AAA this season so he could have been viable trade bait. As for Ramos, I really haven't seen the appeal besides a couple flashes of a guy with heightened offensive skill for a catcher. Ben Revere has a good chance of being a top of the order guy that will hit .310 at the major league level and steal some bases.
Get it done, Minnesota. For the love of god, grab a guy that shows some flair and panache out there instead of the Scott Baker/Nick Blackburn chaff that's front lining a month-long down spiral.

I don't see anybody giving them two big prospects like that. I really have a feeling it's going to wind up being Johan part 2.

It seems like a really good fit especially now with Slowey and Baker struggling for the Twins.

The Mets need to get Oswalt, cause besides the Twins the Mets was the next best fit.

A source tells Jeff Fletcher of AOL Fanhouse that the Twins have offered prospect outfielder Aaron Hicks and prospect catcher Wilson Ramos to the Mariners for left-hander Cliff Lee.

Wow they offered Hicks? Isn't he supposed to be a big deal? I guess it won't be Johan part 2.

I don't see Cliff Lee staying with the Twins, he will ask for too much $$$$.

Good move though, Twins had no use for Wilson Ramos, might as well get the best pitcher on the trade block.

Ramos and Baker or Slowey for Lee.

Would you do that Twins fans?

Is that suppose to be some kind of dilemma?

It's a shame the Twins built this new stadium and Joe Mauer won't reach double-digit home runs in it for the rest of his contract.

Three of our top five prospects? Get real son.

Why?  The Mariners hold all the cards in this deal.  They know how valuable he is to a team for the stretch run and with how good he has been, why not ask for a big haul to start off the negotiations?  I didn't say the Twins should give all 3 of them up for Lee my point is that Mariners should sell high and try to get as much as they can instead of just trying to get two players out of a combination of Hicks, Ramos, Slowey or Baker.
