Not a Coldplay fan anyway so I don't care all that much, but the story-line-album concept never really works all that well.

of Montreal did it, The Decemberists did it....eh.....I like an album that flows together and feels unified, sure, but I've never seen the story conceptexecuted well enough.

Sidenote: I think Coldplay has boring, formulaic music with catchy hooks and little else, and when they try to be creative it sounds like a cheap Radioheadimitation. But Chris Martin's voice is so damn good.

Truth no matter how ok the song is

Can't remember any genre where a pre concepted album works. Jay-z tried the 12 songs/12 producers/literally in his case write every song. IMO its notartisitic to have a "format", let it flow

i generally feel the same way about coldplay....

however, i saw them live a few weeks ago and let me tell you, that is one of the best shows i have ever been to.
