College-heads, I need advice on how to email in sick to my prof? vol. pics for beasts

So I'm absolutely forced to skip my seminar class tomorrow to complete an assignment. the class starts at noon tomorrow.

I need advice on how to email my prof to tell him I'm sick. he's pretty strict on attendance, but I've seen many classmates skip before; and plus, I've been to every single class so far...

Anyways, should I email my prof tomorrow morning or tonight? in my mind it makes more sense to email him tomorrow morning... also, how should I word it?

Pls help a bro out, never done this before..... #keener

If he's strict on attendance, I'm thinking he's going to say that you should turn in the assignment earlier, either through email or dropping it off in his mailbox or something or that sort.

Otherwise I would just send a short email, like I'm unable to attend the next class due to an illness. Something short and to the point without putting in too much information. Make it longer than a sentence though.

Don’t email your professor and tell them you won’t be in class. Bringing unnecessary attention to your absence only wastes your and your professor’s time. Unless your absence impacts a grade component, just miss the class. Your professor many not know you weren’t there. If a grade component is involved, you will need a university-approved excuse anyway. Telling your professor you wife is sick, and you have a meeting, and the kids are on vacation is inappropriate. Professors have families and personal lives too, and work hard to make sure we don’t inconvenience your academic life.

okay, so it's more of an attendance thing... it's actually an art class, and every week we're supposed to have our work critiqued (but NOT marked) but he checks to see if we have our weekly research done.

nothing is marked until the final crit tho... if i dont go, there wont be a checkmark beside my name

I am unable to make class today due to being ill. I have been throwing up all night and think it's due to something I ate at dinner with my grandmother at our Valentine's Day dinner. I have not missed a class yet so I hope this won't have too much of a consequence on my grade.

I showed up to plenty of classes in college with a note on the door saying the professor was out sick. How is that any different? I walk all the way across campus to a class that isn't going to meet, and a class that I'm paying for. That's not equally inconvenient? I've also sat in classrooms where the professor didn't show because they didn't give prior notice and had nobody to deliver the message. People get sick, and giving a heads up is common courtesy.
