the couple i have are size 38 (nike/jordan) and they fit basically like a large would...so maybe 34-small 36-medium 38-large 40-xl and so on..what i found is that its not necessarily the same as like your pant size because with the stretch waistband there is certainly someleeway (unstretched all were about 32 inches, fully stretched about 40)...im 6'0 and usually wear size 33 or 34 in jeans if that helps (yet these shorts are size 38 and fit fine)..the nikeauthentics seem to fit true, right past the knee (how i like them) notoverly baggy like the twill shorts are from the past few years

There is no consensus on sizes...The sizes very from year to year, manufacturer to manufacturer, and even sometimes, team to team. Material and the way the shorts are cut play a big role a well. I have many game worn college shorts and some that are listed as the same size fit very differently.
The best advice I have as for picking the best size for you is to get the measurements, across the waist and down the sides in inches. Then compare those measurements to a pair of your favorite fitting shorts.
It is really a 'hit or miss' deal when buying game worn shorts. You really never know how they will fit until you get them.
