How can I get a student loan that is sent directly to me? I need a new laptop my dell gave me the blue screen of death after 5 years of using it (im on mygirls mac right now). I already have a fafsa package for the 09-10 school year and will recieve an excess check but I need that money to cover my rent duringthe school year. With that said, I think if I apply for a Sallie Mae student loan that my school will deny any more money to me because they'll see thatexcess I already have. Is there any certified loaners that'll send the money to me? I'm just going to ask for around $1000-1500, nothing outrageous. Any help would be appreciated...

I don't know about your school, but my school has a policy just for matters of this nature. Essentially, you can go to the financial aid office and tellthem you need a certain amount of money for a new comp (basically any school related material) and they will take out a loan for the amount, and give it toyou.

So check your financial aid office. I did it my sophomore year...

i have a credit card but im not trying to spend $1000-$1500 on it and then make monthly payments on top of all the other bills i gotta worry about each month.the whole purpose of a student loan is that it is deferred until 6-12 months after you graduate. good looks on that superantigen im going to give them a callon monday and see if they can do anything for me. has anyone done a bank of america student loan? do they cut the check directly to you or to the school?

1500? you can get a laptop with vista, upgradeable to win7, for 500. with 1500 you're ballin.

ya but im sick of pcs...iv used pcs my whole life and they just arent reliable enough. im trying to get a macbook

get a refurbished one from apple.com.

btw if you watch online lectures make sure it works before getting a mac. girl I know had her parents buy her a mac and then buy her a dell a month later afterfiguring it out.

walk into financial aid office and ask.
