You were looking into a top b-school for MBA?

Honestly I haven't really looked into getting an MBA, but I probably should. With my focus in school at a low point, I figure I'll graduate, start working, and then consider going back to school for it. School just really bores me unfortunately. 

Have you already started thinking about it?

Yeah I've looked into it. If I go that route however I'd like to go to a top B-school and the cost to get a MBA at those schools is ridiculous. For now though just keeping my GPA high so that if I do choose that route grades wont be a problem.

Probably wont be the choice I take though.

junior nearing my senior year, note to any young and lazy studens. Plagiarism is a serious thing in college, DONT DO IT I got accused of it this past spring semester got a 3.2 gpa and had an A in the particular class so for the final ya boy got real lazy and copied a paragraph from the text. long story short I am on disciplinary probation for 2 semesters some other tips is to be involved in extra curricular things to add to your college experiences, bag as much yambs as you can but get the free condoms from the health department of course, also intern and get cool with your professors (they got connects to job opportunities and can curve your grades!)

People don't realize and respect the power of these professors. They've done what you wanna do. They know who you wanna know. They've passed what you wanna pass. They can change things for you

Get it together and take care of college and your degree or else you're going to end up working at Footlocker as an assistant manager.

My observations:

-Have an idea of where you're going. A lot of people don't know what they want to do and that's fine, but going to the pool every day then getting wasted at night isn't going to help you think any clearer.

-Major in something that provides a skill. STEM kids get paid well for a reason, and there are other majors out there like accounting that are useful. If you're going to pay thousands of dollars, get something out of it.

-Learn outside of the classroom, this means reading books and exploring different fields.

-Don't let class obstruct your education. If it's a useless class, skip it and just show up for exams. If attendance is mandatory, bring other work or a book.

-Work out. World class gyms are at your fingertips.

-Don't be fooled by kids who act like they have their lives figured out. This one is especially for those who attend "top-tier" schools. People are good at putting on facades of how they're doing and how they're feeling. So many kids around me are depressed and miserable but want to pretend they're in control.

-Leave your dorm and do stuff. This is the only time you will be surrounded by a ton of similarly aged boys/girls. Meet people, make bad decisions that are also good memories.

-Control your liquor... getting an MIP or MIC freshman year is not cool and it's worse when you're dealing with real cops and not campus authorities.

-You don't have to constantly show your social media followers that you're having fun.

-Get good grades. Having a 3.5+ never hurt anyone, and having below that can rule you out of jobs.

-Be independent. That means not calling your parents and having them do your laundry for you every other week. You're supposed to grow into your own person in college.

-Meet and talk to people that matter. Those in the industry, professors, kids who have interned where you want to be... you want to be prepared when the time comes.

-Some people are genuinely bad for you, cut them out.

-Don't be a tool. If you don't like drinking, don't pretend to and start acting loud and obnoxious to prove how "drunk" you are. Don't look down on other people who drink.

-Have fun and also take care of business.

That's a lot but I was bored.

So I'm 22 and making 42k a year but Ima quit and get this degree..I got like 2 to 2.5 yrs left...should I don't want to quit because I need money but I hate my job...Ima take this risk bros

I need to get my ish together.

Applied to 3 schools and I didn't get in but I haven't been rejected either. They still holding my application so we'll see what happens.

Beyond that I need to get my mind right because I basically bombed english on purpose. I just didn't care about the class because they should've taken my transfer credit but in the end it doesn't really matter.

On top of that I need to buy my GRE and GMAT textbooks. I may buy the LSAT book for poops and giggles though.

Sigh...this summer needs to be of some serious progress.

Dad lowkey said this is my last year of parental funding (fair enough it will be four years by the end of next spring) so I definitely need to knock it out the park for scholarships and grants as I'm on track to graduate in 5 1/2 years, 5 if I take heavy course loads.

EDIT: Did anyone graduate from CUNY system? What were prospects like upon graduation? How the  competition between fellow CUNY grads and grads from private/ivy/"better" schools?

Regardless of what you choose to do, thinking ahead is always a good step in the right direction.

Yeah I know my focus and outlook on school isn't the best, but I'm on track to graduate on time and receive my bachelors. I was specifically referring to graduate school.

THIS!!!!! To this day I can call my professors up for help with almost anything and most of them want me to come back and speak to their classes. One of the things that I learned to do my first semester in college when I played football was to go to each of my Professors office hours during the first week and introduce myself, maybe share what you're looking forward to (if there is anything) in the class also. This stuck with me at the next school I attended and made it easier to ask for help outside of the classroom when I needed it because the Professors knew I wanted to learn the material. Sometimes you'd be shocked at some of the things that you and your Professors might have in common.

Thinking about starting an MS in Finance in January. I'm 22 about to turn 23, bringing in a little over $60K. Just graduated last week. I don't necessarily NEED to go back to school yet but I can pay out of pocket for the majority of my tuition. I'd have to take out around $3K in loans, I already have $30K. Gonna take two classes a semester and I should finish the program in about a year and a half.

My undergrad was econ and I work in finance for a Fortune 10 company. I just think the masters in Finance is a good tool for me to have and could potentially put me over the competition when I decide to leave the job im at now in 2 years or so. It's not from a "top" school or anything but I think I want to get the degree because of the skill set it will help me gain.

My boss tells me "this is a good place to be for someone your age" and other coworkers tell me how they had to start on the low end of the company and work up to the front office side. Hope it works out.

Already thinking about Spring Break for 2016...PCB it is. How quick in advance do you guys think should I book all my stuff? I'm trying to have everything settled by the end of the fall semester. Also are there any sites I should go to for booking or book directly from the sources?

I haven't taken any classes since summer of 2012 due to financial complications. Has anybody changed their major a few courses in? My major right now is Business Administration but I had a change of heart and no longer want to get a degree in that. I'm no good at mathematics and I hate numbers. I was thinking of getting a degree to become a dietitian/nutritionist, hopefully I can work with athletes since I'm one myself.

I started Community College about 13 years ago thinking I was gonna go into nursing. Long story short, I earned my Bachelor's in Management just last month and I picked up that diploma last week. #feelsgoodman

yeah man...If you saw my CC transcript, it was like one/two classes every other spring/fall semester for like 10 years. I remember watching How High when it came out and laughed when they said Red took 5 years in CC

I finished my Associate's in Spring of 14" and was actually was able to knock out my Bachelor's by the following winter since I went in. Currently going for my master's now too.

Transferred and got on track immediately and figured out what I wanted to do and didn't mess around with any more breaks. Prob not gonna go for my masters though. I'm 29 and just wanna work the rest of my life haha

Honestly, I love my job so I have no problem continuing to do what I do now. I plan on working until I can't physically anymore either

I just got back to uni in January after 7 years off. I'm 29. It feels wack in one sense but good in another. I crushed my mid terms, straight As. Never got an a in my whole life.

Being wiser and less distraction, I hope to flourish. Hope y'all do it up as well
