so im trying to get back into reading comic books, and was wondering if there is one I should read? and i dont mean like superman, batman etc....something newand different

Ok if you want New and Different the Batman Superman Try Empowered or The Stuff of Legends. Their GREAT. If you want a super hero book thats differen readDestroyer, kick-A S S, or the Runaways Vol 1 and Vol 2 if you see Vol 3 on the store shelves TRUST me it dosent exist.

Define new and different because you could want to read a new take on superhero genre, a crime book, a horror book, or a more personal story about people.

when i say new and different, it could be a different take on a superhero or something else. maybe something like fathom or watchmen?
im open to suggestions

Chance of a lifetime, Kick-$#%,Runaways, Red White and Black, Dark Eien HAwkeye, Sinister Spiderman, Spiderman Blue, Superman Secret Identity, Killing Joke, and Lex Luther man of steel. read those.

Invincible - a superman-type of dude who just found out about his abilities, is just learning about his powers and being a superhero - very good, written byRobert Kirkman (image comics)

Irredeemable - a superman-type of dude who turns to being a bad guy and uses his powers as a bad guy - cool concept havent read it but it looks good, writtenby Mark Waid (boom studios i think)

Batman & Robin - batman is now %%%! Grayson (nightwing, first robin) and Robin is bruce's son Damien, very good character studies and EXCELLENT artfrom Frank Quitely, written by THE Grant Morrison (DC comics)

Umbrella Academy - team of random kids who were randomly born one day and raised as a superhero team, only to grow up have issues and split up, thenreunite...i just started reading this and its really good, written by the lead singer of My Chemical Romance (dark horse comics)

I'd suggest Terry Moore's Echo, Brian Wood's Local, Joe Kelly's I Kill Giants and Mike Carey's Unwritten

there's actually a lot of info in the weekly comic book thread, but it's mostly Marvel/DC, but you might find something in there you like

I'm really enjoying Green Lantern right now. Geoff Johns doin work.
the Blackest Night event just started a couple weeks ago. Go scoop up some trades to catch up and then get Blackest Night #1

The Walking Dead - It's about people trying to survive from zombies, hunters, and crazy a** people.

A newborn baby was killed in a recent issue.
