I don't mind the drive...I go about 40 miles RT each day for work. It's scenic and I can clear my head. 30 min in the morning, and about 35-45 min in the afternoon/evening depending on the traffic. I've been there and done that w. the subway....i'm around people all day, and the last thing I want to do is be around more people on my ride home. Solitude FTW.

.  plus they're unreliable and always have delays in weather like this.  my drive to school is around 50 minutes so it's not so bad.  long island drivers are the worst though.  straight up morons who always get into accidents.

I grew up commuting from the suburbs to downtown Houston - an hour to drive sixteen miles on I-10.  Now that I live and work in downtown, it's NINE MINUTES from my office door to my front door.

I'd rather take mass transportation than commute myself in my own car, work alone this past year has racked over 15k miles

With the snow/rain mix today my commute to work was a little over 2 hours (normally takes me about 40 minutes)

Just emailed my professor saying I'm not going to make it in today.

30 minute drive + snow + bad plowing + %$$*%+ drivers =  I'm going to miss class.

I love my drive to work. Hate the bus/lightrail ride to school both take about 30 minutes

I live in Woodbridge VA, and slug into Washington DC every morning. Usually takes about 40 minutes. (almost 25 mile trip)

When i lived in DC, my 4 mile trip from our apt to my office would take about the same amount of time (I'd save about 5-10 mins if i took metro, but it would cost 3-4 times more than the bus)

Needless to say, i'm extremely satisfied with my commute, considering.
