I'm sick of my Vaio. This 1gb of RAM having mother $%$!@$ is getting on my last nerve.
I looked at a couple computers on the Microsoft website that get free upgrades to Windows 7 (when it comes out); since I'm sure I can aquire W7 throughother means when the time comes, I'm open to any laptops. With a good amount of RAM. 1gig wont cut it anymore.

One laptop that stuck out to me was the Samsung R610-62G. Anyone know if that's good? It's $900, and around my price range.

everyone here is going to tell you to cop a macbook pro...i have one and i love it but that's neither here nor there. on the PC side, i'd look atlenovo. they're a little pricier but seem to be more reliable (only PC in my house that's been running longer than 2 yrs).

then again, it helps to know what the computer will be used for. gaming? editing? web surfing? that info will help us help you.

blah!

Oh yeah, no Macs (Since someone will ask, I just dont want one). And I'm looking for mostly multimedia and gaming. Hence the Samsung catchingmy eye. Thanks for the input, I'll check out some Lenovo's

1)what windows OS would you want to use xp is cheaper than vista
2) what kind of gaming do you want to do crysis type or more half life type gaming
3) what size would you like your screen

whats the best tablet laptop out? tablet.. is that what they call the small laptops? correct me if i'm wrong. thanks!

tablets are touchscreen...kinda useless....

the little laptops are netbooks, they're basically just for a lil bit of internet browsing, ms office, in general just what old people would use.

I say dells are the best bang for your buck

check out the dell outlet. get either a dell studio(mid-high level) or dell xps( the highest)

1. Doesnt matter, I'm changing to Windows 7 when it comes out in October. (It is still coming out in October, right?)
2. Half Life/L4D/Bioshock type gaming. I dont think I'd need anything powerful enough to play something like Crysis. But I'd use it for games that areon PC, and not on PS3.
3. I'm thinking ~15". Smaller is fine too.

whats wrong with vaio? besides the 1gb ram...
what do you plan on doing with your laptop?

Nothing. Well the battery dies after about an hour of not being plugged in, but whatever.
I've posted that already.

the samsung one looks all right but if your trying to play any games on it it will be on med or low settings

laptop and gaming don't really go together, but if you must I'd say an entry level dell xps m1730 or gateway fx(best bang for your buck).
