What kind of cables does your motherboard have for the hard drive? Is it just another ribbon cable?

that was the first problem i had. its a ribbon cable yea but instead of having 40 inserts it has 39 with one in the middle blocked off... so i cant get asimple converter cord, so im told. i originally got a pata to sata backplane adapter. had 40 plugs... didnt work.

Oh..

You don't see any red sockets or anything(think sata ports are supposed to be red, don't quote me on that though)

If not...you might be out of luck man.

39 with one blocked off? Can you post pics?
