baseball is boring as hell, and I was born and raised on the island for a bit before moving to the states. I started playing baseball at 5 years old but slowly started losing interest around 10 years old. Wanted to play futbol then, but my parents weren't having it

Once you actually understand the game, you'll see why some matches end in a draw or with low scores. It takes way more athleticism and fitness to play futbol, have you seen what some of these pitchers and first basemen look like?

in any athletic pursuit, the enjoyment one feels is often related to the skill they have.

someone with elite ball control abilities, quick feet, and an accurate shot with action is going to love showing off their skills on the pitch.

someone with a natural feel at the plate and a decent defensive game is going to enjoy solving the puzzles of the diamond.

on the other hand, someone with no handles or hops might not like basketball so much.

no sense in saying any of the above can't be fulfilling.

its waaaaaaaaaaaaay harder to master catching a 100+ mile a hour baseball coming towards your face....this is undisputable.

soccer is popular outside da world cuz its sooooo easy to be decent.

its takes way more skills to be decent in baseball.

winner. I've seen kids down here run on a patch of dirt dribbling a jug...you can bet those skills are insane when they do actually have cleats, balls, goals, etc.

it's the same reason hockey has the demographics it does, that **** takes a good $1,000 of equipment MY PARENTS WOULDN'T BUY ME I HATE THIS HOUSE
