Convince a Mac hater to buy one

You can get Microsoft Office for the Mac so that alone shouldn't restrict anyone to a PC.

I was a PC guy until 4 months ago when I absolutely had to get a Mac for school. My old PC laptop was a mess and I took relative care of it. Even with "light" computing it's worth the extra couple hundred bucks to switch to Mac. Those few very trivial differences actually mean a lot and make things much smoother and seamless. Mac's simply better.

Macs are just so clean ... if you have the money for it, go for it.

If you're struggling to pay for it, don't.

Do you ever let young children or your older parents use your computer? If so, get a mac. I don't know why, but those two groups somehow get viruses on your comp. just by sitting with it for ten minutes -_-'.

I work for this company that rhymes with CrApple. Been working there for a couple years. I don't own a single one of their products.

(we recently got an email saying we're not allowed to say we work for them on internet forums.)

I have a Macbook Pro and yeah it runs great. But since a computer is not that serious to me (mainly use it for internet only) then I'll probably just get a PC next time, I can't see myself spending another $2000 on a MAC.

This is just lies...how did all your PCs break after one year?  I have a pos compaq with a pentium III and it still works like the day I bought it.  People always say macs are way faster but when it comes to benchmark testing and 3dmarks macs are always losing when compared to a computer of same price.  People that complain PCs are slow probably had celeron processors or semprons, onboard graphics card, and 2 gbs of ram trying to run vista with aeros on.

This is the truth.  Regardless of whether you get a PC or Mac, all those damn widgets and icons are memory hogs.

This. you'll save yourself hundreds, and can still get a really fast pc to meet your needs. i got a laptop with i5 (with turbo boost) 4gb of ram and some number of HDD for like 740. w/ w7 thats fast.

you pay a lot of money for the name when it comes to apple.

I just got my self one, I'm in love with it. I'm a PC head but i wanted to buy something that has built quality to it. It was either a macbook or Samsung laptop that both were durable, and fast. Both were very light. The macbook is something out of this world, the samsung was nice but it didn't really have any thing that stand out of it besides the core i5, which i don't really need since i have desktop with it already. Just need something that when im in school or chilling at home i can just pull out and complete task with ease. I always thought macs weren't worth the money but once you start to hear great quality, and back with a great OS, why not dig deep and get something you like.

I agree with everyone saying don't get it if you don't use media heavy applications. I have 3 macs that I use for various things and I love the OS and build quality but I won't pretend that I don't know that there is a large tech lag that sometimes makes the price laughable, especially on entry level models.
