Coping mechanisms

My doctor has suggested counseling based off some depression test.i dont know what it stems from . I'm kinda afraid to go through with it and I really don't know why or what to expect. anyone know of any alternatives? Or anyone going through something similar? Stories?

Apologies if this is an old topic...but I been sitting a couple hours now basically driving myself crazy with my own thoughts
