Tell me how, because this isn't working for me. Could be losing someone who's been a huge part of my life. She's getting old. Never been in this predicament before.

Death is a natural part of life/Life is a natural part of death.

Understand that while someone close to you is dying that you were able to spend a considerable amount of time with them...and when I say considerable I don't mean just length of time I mean quality time as well.

Everyone with loved ones will have to eventually go through this so your not alone. Whatever time you have left with that person, you should keep death as far away from your mind as possible, it will only serve to dilute your present time with them. Reminisce, joke around, talk about anything else besides death because if you put the focus on someones death before they die, are you really gonna think of the times they lived afterwards? seems kinda backwards.

While death will always linger in the back of our minds, the more we learn to forget about it the more we learn to live. Worry about death after it comes, focus on life in the moment.

Soak in all positive energy they're about to leave with you, and make some great memories with the time that they have left, and think of the great memories y'all had before. After they pass away its okay to cry, but just remember that if you aren't happy your loved one isn't happy in their after life.

People cope with death in several diff.ways....they submerge themselves into work, find hobbies, drink/do drugs (which I dont recommend AT ALL), etc...

Personally, it's something you have to face head-on...deal with it, instead of ignoring it & trying to push it to the back of your mind. That doesn't do anything but break you down mentally. There's absolutely nothing wrong with crying. Too many men try not to, puttin up a front, and still deal w/it years later. I'm personally not a fan of doing anything I previously mentioned because when all the calls stop, when the friends leave & there's no housework to be done, you'll have to deal with it...sooner or later.

Focus on the good times you've had w/that person. Tell them you love them & say whatever you've got to say before it's too late. You don't want to live w/any regrets, and apologize for any harm you may have caused them (if you did).

Unfortunately, this is all something we'll have to deal with, which is why it's important we tell people that we love them & cherish them while they're still on earth...that way we can at LEAST take comfort in knowing that they knew how we felt about them.

Agree with what's been posted already. Just let your emotions out, dont try to hold them in and keep the positive thoughts of their memory close in thought

Never been through anything as tough than the death of my father, I literally forced myself to cry everyday to the point I couldnt anymore I was so exhausted

It also helped for me that I had to be there for my mom and sisters who were dealing with this too. I wanted to show that I could be strong and they could lean on me during this time. Seeing their pain hurt worse than my own honestly

It's just something you have to take day by day bro, there's no set gameplan on dealing with it really
