Cormega Offers Opinion On 'Spoiled Rich Kid' Drake
October 19th, 2009 | Author: Slava Kuperstein

Queens, New York rapper Cormega[click to read] recently spoketo Street Disciplez Radio about his opinion on Toronto rapper Drake [click to read].

The veteran emcee didn't have many positive things to say about the Young Money signee, saying, "I can't +%*! with Drake, I like Drake, I like Drake as a young man tryingto make money but I can't take him serious," revealed Mega in the interview.

The crux of Mega's argument was his belief that Drake did not grow up with much adversity. "Number one, he's rich. He's richman. I don't like when these spoiled rich kids they just get into rap because it's something they can do but they pops got money and they put 'emin the game and then they start rapping about something, a life they could never live."

Cormega continued, saying if he were in Drake's position, he would have chosen a different profession."Go do something else. I mean, %!+*, if I could switch with you, I would be the rich dude, the rich goodygood my whole life. *@%*+% like us rap about sh*t because we lived it. These *@%*+% use rap as a hobby."

Cormega is, of course, no stranger to beef, as he famously fuededwith fellow Queensbridge rapper Nas.

while i love megamontana to death...he's wrong

if michael jordan was a rich dude comin into da NBA it still wouldn't be something that you can use to deny his talent.

not to say drake is michael jordan by ANY means in rap music

But Drake doesn't rap about the "hood life" so what the *@*$ is 'Mega tommbout?

He act like _'s from the struggle are the only ones who can use rap as an avenue for success. Mad ignorant.

This dude mega stay mad at anything successful. If only dude could ride a beat maybe he wouldn't be so angry all the time.

That's that old school mentality, hip-hop being from the streets so someone from the streets or who can relate to that life should be the only type ofperson in it.

Mega has a valid point tho. But i think music is music, make good music, be real, and your straight. If drake starts talking about flippin and guns then id belike where? degrasse?

Not in this case.
Yeah he do, he from an era that was based off hood music with thought and stories.. Drake is like a commerical rapper w/ auto tune hooks, whichisn't the Real Hip hop from 78-200-

back than u actually had people that could sing on them.. etc

If Drake had been talkin bout that %*%# from the jump he would have gotten nowhere. Reason Drakes done so well is because he offers peoplesomething a lil bit different.

What? What did what Mega say have to do with people being able to sing on hooks? The "real hip hop" didn't have commercial rappers? Interesting

Thats the type of music he makes its obivious.. he basically saying he's straight up commerical and in it for pop money.. obiviously

he didn't say that word for word but i bet thats what he meant. wait for further interviews etc..

Drake isn't offering anything different, he's offering commerical music which sells crazy..

thats a lame argument...dude is trippin hard...Mega if Drake is doing this just as a hobby n got more buzz than u after ur whole career...u shud pick anotherprofession...no1 put drake in the game and said "yall have to like this dude music"

But he's not rapping about those things so I don't see his beef. There are a lot people who can still relate to drakes music.

Also the part where he says do something else doesnt make any ******* sense at all. So I guess since kobe's father played in the nba, and kobe was aspoiled rich kid, he should have done "something else".

You could tell Mega ain't heard a lick of Drake's music outside of what's on the radio.

Heard a few songs and seen an interview or two and think he got his whole life story figured out...

I mean i'm a huge mega fan... but he isn't consistent at all, and really messed up his career. Today you really have to be consistent and get played onthe radio.. Drake ain't really my style but for what he does he's straight you know? I don't see him as amazing or GOAT, i mean how? with what? Imean i did feel the same way bout lupe and cudi before there lps and now i rock wit em everyweek.. so maybe he will grow me...

@wade thats basically what i got from his sublimial

So he's not basically saying that if you aint from the streets you shouldn't be rapping which is what he basically said? That's obvious to you?Yall must be intertwined some how because if that's what he meant, he sure has a poor way of choosing his words for some one as lyrical as him.
