I love Craig Kilborn.

Comedian and original "Daily Show" host Craig Kilborn recently shot a pilot for CNN, multiple outlets reported on Monday.

The New York Daily News reported that the pilot was for a satirical news program. The news comes just days after the New York paper reported that CNN is looking to add a late night comedy show to the network's lineup.

Kilborn's "Daily Show" was a dramatically different program than the current show hosted by Jon Stewart. In a 1997 interview with Esquire magazine, Kilborn made a disparaging joke about "Daily Show" creator Lizz Winstead, which led to the network benching him for a week. Kilborn left the program amidst rumors of clashes with the show's production staff.

He then moved to CBS' "Late Late Show," which he reportedly left by choice after hosting from 1999-2004. The show's current host, Craig Ferguson, took over after Kilborn's departure. After laying low for six years, Kilborn returned to television in 2010 with a half-hour show called "The Kilborn File" on Fox owned-and-operated stations.

The news of Kilborn's pilot comes on the heels of CNN announcing its newly-appointed CEO, Jeff Zucker, who will take over in January. Zucker said that he will "continue to broaden the definition of what news is" as the ailing cable network's new chief. The network announced its plans to produce a wider variety of nonfiction programming, which led to the creation of a new weekend show hosted by celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain titled "Parts Unknown."

TV is a joke, they're all trying to do whats "hot" at the moment and losing themselves in all this lame hype..i cant ever get news when i want to either on TV..
