A week ago, I sold an office chair on Craigslist and delivered it to the buyer's doorstep for an extra bit of money. At the time of the transaction, he had no qualms with the chair, having said everything about it was fine. He even took close to 10 minutes inspecting it, sitting in it, etc. Today he texts me asking for a refund because the chair is "uncomfortable" and that it "gives him back pains." I didn't mention anything about refunds in my Craigslist posting but thought that it was implied that you may take all the time in the world inspecting it, but the sale is final after that. Would you guys give the refund?

does he have any of your info? if not, i would tell him no, or just not respond.

you can give him a partial refund if you want to be kind, but definitely, not a full refund.

Caveat emptor

Aside from my name, email, and phone number, no.

Thanks for the help guys; I think I'll tell him no and see how he responds.

If he looks like the dude from Taken and he has your number, just return it before problems occur.

Tell him to stoo bendin over and his back pains will go away

There was nothing wrong with the chair. He asserted nothing was wrong with it, he probably just found a better deal or a different chair, you dont owe him anything back.

Lol you're right. It was my first time selling on Craigslist and listed using only my usual email. He responded to the listing and we exchanged a few emails (which displays my name) before moving correspondence to phone.

Gonna start using alternate numbers/emails for these types of deals in the future.

lol @ all the funny comments but yeaa, just don't respond, its CL at the end of the day. the only time when u can choose not to take the item is upfront in person, after ur meet up, everything is final (of course thats all up to you). sometimes u just gotta let them know, no refunds, all transactions are final
