Customs declaration.....what to do?

I've purchased from overseas before, but have never been confronted with this. Must I put how much I paid for the item? Less? I would imagine this having something to do with customs duties and insurance.

Yea, some Dior jeans for $200.

and what's your dilemma? a little + / - from $200 doesn't seem like it'd make that much of a diff. but why wouldnt you just declare them for $200?

if u declare them for less u'd pay less customs, i do this

I told the guy to declare for $100. It's not really a dilemma I would say. More of an inquiry if I must put how much I made the purchase for or can I basically say whatever.

yeah I dont think it matters if you do declare them for less so you pay less customs. I think I used to price clothing at like + / - 50 bucks and stuff when buyers asked.
