homie been out since 1994...and is on top of his game on 2018...insane amount of hits.

he and da other underground PR artists should thank DJBlass & da Lunytunes for melding da sound known as reggaeton...those spanish rap years were some dark times

    salute da legend.

In the ''underground scene'' collabos between the artists from PR & US had already been done. Just go and listen to the album Boricua Guerrero First Combat...

Daddy Yankee aka Winchester Yankee ''El 30-30'' did a song with Nas, etc. etc. etc.

If you ask me, Reggaeton should have been considered ''mainstream'' before ''Gasolina'' and ''Oye Mi Canto''.

In my humble opinion, there's more than just 2 albums that are considered Masterpieces in the Reggaeton genre...

    Non-Mainstream albums:

    Daddy Yankee El Cangri.com
    DJ Blass Sandunguero 1
    Baby Rasta & Gringo Sentenciados
    Buddha's Family
    Tempo Game Over
    Tempo New Game
Wisin & Yandel De Nuevos A Viejos
    Nicky Jam Haciendo Escante
Tito & Hector A La Reconquista
    Don Omar The Last Don
    Tego Calderon El Abayarde
    Lito & Polaco Mundo Frio
    Speedy Dando Cocotazos
    Kilates 1 & 2
    Boricua NY 1 & 2
Luny Tunes & Noriega Mas Flow
Zion & Lennox Motivando A La Yal

    And the list goes on...

    Mainstream albums:

    Daddy Yankee Barrio Fino
Luny Tunes & Baby Ranks Mas Flow 2
    Rakim & Ken-y Masterpiece
Eliel El Que Habla Con Las Manos
    Sangre Nueva

    And the list goes on...

what im sayin is straight production, lyrics, girth, just the whole complete package wise Barrio fino is probably top 3 reggaeton albums of all time.

let's keep it all the way 100 B, most reggaeton albums before Barrio Fino were glorified compilation albums...

Barrio fino step up da whole reggaeton genre as far as album excellence.

Manin, the non-mainstream albums that I posted not all of them are compilation albums. Don Omar The Last Don, Tego Calderon El Abayarde, etc. etc. etc.

last don & da 1st tego are reggaeton's mount Rushmore, but they not touchin barrio fino.

those 2 albums felt like da building up to da eventual climax that was barrio fino.

2003-2005 was just a great time musically.
