Like legitimately everyone in the world thought the Earth would end and the computers would either take over like the matrix or all electronic devices would stop working like that show Revolution. It was worse than the whole 2012 scare. Then nothing happened and soooo many preachers and survivalists were like

Napster, Kazaa, start downloading songs before you go to sleep and hope the songs are done when you get up for school so you can burn a CD and bring it to class.

Going to the library and printing out hundreds of pages just pics of various Pokemon. Printing out hundreds of pages of rap lyrics for you and your friends to memorize and rap at lunchtime like ya'll came up with them.

Soooo much fun stuff.

Damn some babies in here. '99 was EPIC!!! 3rd year of college. Turned 21 that year. I remember going to 7-11 to buy my 1st 6 legal 6 pack and, didn't get carded!!! Bought my 1st brand new car, Chevy Malibu, STILL own that car. YAMBS game was bubblin'. Hit Vegas for Y2K new year, no F's given. Lakers were gettin squad up. Had a legit FTL connect, miss those friends & family pillagings. In my opinion was kind of a golden age for hip-hop...Dilated peoples, J5, Big Pun, Mos Def, Em, etc.

Worse thing was that my grandpa, that raised me passed...R.I.P.

THIS!!! Loved '99, was indeed EPIC, but class of '96 FOREVER. 95/96 was the greatest period for sneakers EVER. Classic after classic was released.
