A dozen young people, most of them women, were taken to hospitals after a substance - possibly the date-rape drug known as "roofies" - was slipped into their drinks at a house party in central Washington State, police said Saturday.

When police began sweeping the house for possible victims, one sheriff's deputy found and arrested a male who was engaging in sexual activity with a semiconscious female, Cle Elum Police Chief Scott Ferguson said.

The investigation started late Friday when cops received a report of a possible overdose victim at a grocery store.

Acting on information from the victim's friends, police went to the house party and found 11 more young people either passed out or semiconscious.

Some students at Central Washington University who attended the party in Kittitas County told a local TV station that they believe a bottle of vodka had been spiked with the date-rape drug Rohypnol, commonly known as "roofies."

Three remained hospitalized yesterday, including one woman in serious condition at a hospital in Yakima, Ferguson said.

Actually, that guy is the least likely person to get in any legal trouble. The semi-conscious girl is his gf, and I am willing to bet he was pretty out of it, too. AP did a horrible job reporting this.
