DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

JOKER Described As "Cinematic Achievement On A High Level" By Toronto International Film Festival Boss

It's pretty obvious that Joker is going to be a comic book movie unlike any other, and now Cameron Bailey, the co-head and artistic director of the Toronto International Film Festival, has shared his review.

There's already a lot of Oscar buzz surrounding the DC Comics adaptation (well, we know it won't actually be an adaptation, as such) and Bailey has made it clear that the Clown Prince of Crime's origin story is worthy of a place at the prestigious event. "First of all it’s terrific. So it should play on our largest stage," he explains. "But it’s a really original take on comic book movies and on the Joker character in particular. It’s not based on an existing story."

"It has one of the greatest actors in modern cinema, Joaquin Phoenix, in the lead, and Robert De Niro is in it as well, one of the best actors that has ever lived," he continued before pointing out that the standalone movie "has an interesting tone and approach to it."

"It’s set in the late ’70s, early ’80s and it feels like it was made then. It’s gritty in its look. It has references to Martin Scorsese’s filmmaking and it feels like a cinematic achievement on a high level. Although it’s working with very populist material, it has great ambition. That’s why it’s a Gala."

Joker is being released in two months and we still don't have a trailer for it.

I'm assuming you mean a 2nd trailer? We got a trailer awhile ago.

Honestly we don't need another trailer, they showed enough to entice people, looks like its a solid film. They show anymore footage or different scenes and I may not check it out.

It was a teaser trailer though.

I mean it basically told you everything you needed to know, without telling you anything.

Keep it like that.

Who else they need to convince to see the film?

movie should be a nice 90-100 mins, they gonna spoil the movie with extra footage.

we already know dude gets his *** kicked twice on the train and in the street, if there are more of those scenes, DON'T show them. Any more scenes with the mom, DON't show them.

DC gonna mess around and get in their own way...again

drop a "first look" type trailer with the stars talking over scenes we have seen before and it's a wrap

who ISN'T gonna watch this film if another trailer doesn't drop?

they got the juice by debuting it at the film festival

JOHN WICK Director Chad Stahelski To Direct BIRDS OF PREY Action Scenes For The DC Comics Movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Wick director Chad Stahelski has been enlisted to help out Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

The filmmaker will reportedly oversee second unit photography and is set to work alongside current director Cathy Yan. His job will be to design and direct these scenes and it's not uncommon for second unit footage to be helmed by someone else (hence why blockbusters have Second Unit Directors).

He won't be credited for his work and his company, stunt firm 87 Eleven, has actually been working on Birds of Prey from the start.

Snyder will find a way to ruin that if given that chance

Snyder bout to randomly dropped some concept art for action set pieces for when he was going to direct BoP for WB/DC
