Funny thing is that I've encountered all of those instances in which other races attempting to "learn" about my race.

It would need to have an offficial plot and not just pointing to the stereotypes.

I'm not sure what your exactly your expecting...I would assume since they are currently getting funding, they filmed VERY little.  Just barely enough to get the trailer done.
I do see your POV but if they played the story straight(coming of age story, fish out of water, etc..) in this trailer minus the shock stuff, there would  probably not be a post about this, nor would it be on various film sites, wshh, or exceeded its funding goal.
