Debt Mediation?

I currently have ~$20,000 in credit card debt (tuition + irresponsible spending) and I have been receiving letters in the mail about debt mediation. They offer to cut the debt nearly in half, but I'm not sure of the negative consequences.

Has anyone ever dealt with a debt mediation program?

i wouldnt do it , they will try to scam you

just try to work with the cc company. if you are consistent with your payments and you stay in communication. i am sure they will work with you. nothing in life is free...so read the fine print of those mediation programs.
