Def Jam 2000 era appreciation post!

This was by far (IMO) the best era of hip hop/rap music! 98-2001 was Def Jam all the way! Great music and people actually went to the store and bought CD's, good times!

Just some albums in that era that was good!

you're really only a real OG if you bought those albums the day they came out b/c almost all of them came with a free promo disc attached. i know i have the j**** double, the dmx double and the onyx double somewhere in my collection

I'm actually digitizing and selling all of my CD collection. And a lot of it is from this time period.

It was actually ridiculous. I found 3 copies of In My Lifetime Vol. 1 with 2 of them still in the wrapper.

I forgot which album it was, but I was geeked to get "The Ripper Strikes Back" on the bonus CD. i liked those days... i worked at Target & this cat could pop off the plastic security deals with his fingers and he'd sell them for $5.

I'm not exactly sure and can't look because they're packed away in storage, but for the most part they had unreleased tracks, previews for upcoming albums, and live versions of some tracks...i'll be digging them out soon i think
