Defensive Driving Course question

Ok, i suck at googling. I have a simple easy question.

Mailing address, licensed, and insured in Georgia. But i live/work in NYC (yes I'm doing what you think I'm doing). Ima take a defensive driving course so lower my insurance rate. Now my question is, If i take the defensive driving course in NY, will that still apple and be valid for my GA insurance/license? are the defensive driving course certificates, state issued?
