Not in a Soldier Boy/Ice-T way where one dude is way older, but just something between young dudes 8 or 10 years apart? I grew up with the assumption that youshould respect someone that's older than you more than a peer, unless of course the person did something to change that presumption.

So here is how this came up:

I invite my wife's little brother to play in a fantasy league with me and all my friends. We're all 23-26 and he's 16. I am commissioner and Ispecifically asked people to trash talk to make things more fun. So he makes a post clowning my team, nothing serious just jokes. I make one about his, andthen he comes back with "you really don't know anything about football" in response to a specific point* I made about one of his players, so Iprove his point wrong and end with "sit down kid". He comes back with "sit down" and "stay in your sport and don't come out"(implying I'm better at basketball than football and shouldn't talk about FF). So I tell him personally that he's out of pocket and needs to chillsince he's younger than everyone else and talking the most trash. Although he says "OK", he seems to not understand this concept of talking tosomeone that's older than you respectfully at all.

So NT, was I wrong/overreacting?

* I joked that Anthony Fasano must be a Mafia Wars character 'cuz I've never heard of him. He replied that Fasano had more TDs than both my TE'scombined (Witten and Pettigrew), and said " you don't know anything about football"). I replied that TDs are irrelevant because Witten had 60more fantasy points than Fasano last year and Pettigrew is a rookie. I end with "sit down kid", and he comes back with the stuff mentioned above.

other than you not knowin who fasano is i didnt read any of that
