How old is op? Age and record points will do it to you. More so if the car is brand new.

spare 210k for 35 years on vehicles, or put that 210k toward a mortgage to own a home that i can live in or rent and profit off of....hmmmmmm
of course I can. See I'd rather save or invest that money then waste it to have a new car every 3 years. I don't have a wasteful mindset like most people.
you're paying either way. "But you want the new iPhone anyway".
I'm sure people that do this already have a great living expenses. And already got a house or nice apartment. So this anology is irrelevant.
couldve spent that money on a house.
my mom is talking about buying a new mercedez SUV :x
told her to get a used one and she said she doesnt want someone else's car, and that she already has a used car
ridiculous imo
i dont think I'll ever own a brand new car
Unexpected repairs, ok, but again you're always paying when you lease. 35 years spending 210k on a monthly payment. With that much money you didn't need to only have 1 car that entire time. I could have 4 cars and keep the change leftover. I could have a new car with that money and have 3 "old" cars that are also mine.
Talking about depreciation, when you lease you own nothing. Nothing's depreciating because it's not yours. You just pay like you do
23 got in like 3-5 wrecks total can't even remember how many. 2 traffic violations. My mom n daddy say f u get ur own. Don't want to risk premium to going up
I don't care about the money when you're not making a payment.
The money saved from not having a payment equals pennies? Okay
The 3 years of no payments that I have had so far is 18K saved. If I keep my current car that is perfectly fine for another 5 years thats a total of 48K saved from not having payments. These numbers are from the example that someone else posted (18K payed for 3yr lease)
Also if you can afford to lease how can you not afford maintenance on a payed off car?
How do you not take that into consideration?
OK long story short, Saturday I went signed on a new Honda said I was gonna put 10k down. Signed paperwork they didn't give the paperwork to me since I didnt pay yet since I have no check book. Find out car insurance is 2600 for 6 months due to bad record. Am I legally binded to purchase car or can I call n cancel
You guys are so ridiculous talking about 210k could've gone towards a house.
Y'all act like financing would've actually saved you 210k...completely ignoring the money that you'll spend on the garbage that you would own.
You say you'd have about 4 cars. In that span.
Let's say each car costs you about 50k when all taxes and interest are factored in. 4 cars in will have you in on 200k. That's the money you'd have 4 spent on cars that are probably trash 20 if you keep them at 20 years old, So you have a Fully loaded Camry or entry level luxury...big ******* deal.
So really you looking at 10k as money saved vs leasing. Not to mention whatever major repairs would've happened in that span.
So tell me more about this 210k that you would have to buy a home?
You savin pennies while I'm savin headaches.
I'm from NY, what the **** ima do with 4 cars?

Cars 50k after taxes? Bruh, how about 22k each after taxes? Then selling them for 3-4k to buy a new one? That makes your argument null and void.

Oh really . Please tell us how your investing is working out for you so far.Ok? You're also ALWAYS driving something new and ALWAYS have a warranty. Whats your point? No unexpected repairs is a little underrated dont you think?
You also wont keep 1 car for 35 years. If you cant spare 210K for 35 years, then youre doing something wrong.

Ok so you go with the core minimum from your car if your 5 yr loan only costs you 22k (we are assuming these are all financing new cars).
This is America though. Not everybody wants to shop at Target.
At the end if you go with even a 40k car you still 160 in and you own things that people don't want. In NY you can barely find parking with one car.
Just because things can last 10, years you can't knock people for not wanting to.
Your arguments always imply you are making some wiser financial decision.
I know people with this mentality but then they live in the city and spend 450 to park their 10 yr old car.
You're not wiser. You just choose to spend your money on other things.
