I can only imagine how much better the team will play if Donovan's mom makes them Campbell's Chunky soup before every game

Honestly dont bother me whether we get McNabb or not... I think Alex Smith did decent but who knows, hes basically been on and off... I just feel better if we keep our 2 1st round picks...

tempting but for a 1st rounder nahh...plus i dont wanna have another qb change again...smith looks good with crabby

not a 1st rounder for mcnabb maybe something else

If there's an opportunity to grab Jahvid Best in the 2nd round, I hope the 9ers don't pass.

I'm quite certain McNabb has a no-trade clause, there is no reason why he'd want to come to the Niners. If any team should be trying to grab his services its the Cardinals or Vikings.

They have better all-around pieces to win now in comparison to what the 9ers have for the future.

I can't wait for the draft. I'm a little irked McCloughan has already gone on record and said he isn't spending a dime on FA.

My hope would be: Joe Haden with the 13th and Mike Iupati or Bruce Campbell (prefer bruce since we're going more with zone blocking and he has great feet to do so) with the 17th.

Our 2nd rounder is where we gotta add a playmaker: McCluster, Gilyard or Jahvid Best (I'm just worried about his health, I'm not surprised he declared because he was 1 more injury away from hanging up the cleats)

I watched a lot of McCluster and this dude is TOUGH. If he has a great combine he could probably be drafted in the 1st.

In the 3rd I'd love to see a OLB/DE taken, we need to add youth to our LB core.

We're also weak in the secondary and with how deep this draft is in OL we should go heavy in the later rounds.

I know I'm not the only one who forgot about thomas clayton.

I hope he's 100% healthy, his chances are looking slim to make the team.

Interesting day today.

TheCardinals trade Boldin and a 5 for a 3 and a 4, Antrel Rolle signs with the Giants. and Dansby signs with the Dolphins  I thought the Warner thing was a huge blow, and this is a pretty huge one as well. The Cardinals got substantially weaker today.

Seahawks are expected to trade for Brandon Marshall and are rumored to want Vick. I dont want either of those to happen. Dont need the Seahawks getting good again.

The 49ers ONCE AGAIN are sitting on their hands doing absolutely nothing. Did you guys hear some of the diarrhea that came out of McCloughan's mouth today?!? "its not a real good market," or "there is no one that we feel can significantly improve our team," or "we're not going to be considered a big free agency team anyways." You are a @$#%%*% idiot if you dont think there is anyone out there that can help this team. No one out there that can improve out team.....did we win the Superbowl last year or something?

We are SO close to being the best in the division again. I hope we make enough changes to make that happen.

Question:
Quote:
@PatrickWillis52 did u hear that david carr is visiting the niners today??
Patrick's response :
Quote:
@RT831 for real for what. we have 3 qb's that are better then him. That's a waste of his time

I think its pretty obvious that if we are signing David Carr, that it means the end of the Shaun Hill era in SF.

I'm glad P52 & Dashon are speakin the truth, both sayin this is pretty much a useless signing.

It just doesn't make ANY sense. We're gonna have 2 former #1 pick QBs on the same team

I believe Hill is locked up for 1 more year so I hope we can trade him for something useful.

I can't believe McCloughan is still the GM, countless ******ed move after another.

Tony Pashos looks like he's following our former OL coach to the Skins, I know the 9ers are high on bringing him back.

No matter who the Cards trade away, I'm still not giving the division to the 49ers. Keepin' expectations to a minimum waitin for draft day

Which would mean the FO sold out for Smith.

49ers not doing !*%%!

i cannot believe that we are basically having the division gift wrapped for us and we are not taking advantage of it!

if seahawks get marshall

I can't believe they wouldn't consider trading one of their 1st round picks for a player like McNabb.

They need to stop messing around and be aggressive. It's been 8 years - DO SOMETHING!
Smith and Hill are a waste of time. They aren't going to develop into anything better than what they are right now.

Hell, let Philly keep McNabb and go after Vick. I know Vick isn't what he was in the past but he's better then Smith/Hill right NOW.

Also - they NEED to get a better player to return kicks on special teams. It seemed like we never returned a kick past the 20 and would constantly have poor field position every damn game.

I pray they get a return specialist - whether thats through free-agency or the draft.

49ers needs IMO -

- QB

- O-Line

- Kick Returner

I would also like to see them get a decent #3 WR. Crabs and Morgan are good but they need a speed WR to put in that slot position to free those two up from time to time.

if we come out of the draft with a good tackle to replace snyder and a returner who's actually a threat to return a punt and can bring kickoffs out past the 25, i'll be happy. secondary depth (some speed at safety, cb's so i never have to watch dre bly again), backup rb (i have no faith in coffee) and a guard would be nice too. not nearly as many holes this offseason as usual though

big NO on mcnabb. only reason to get donovan is if you got a team already prepped for the promised land, i'd rather have the 1 pick.

matt moore probably cost us a top 10 pick. closing out the season 4-1 after delhomie went down... i know some of those w's were against teams that already packed it in but goshdarnit, berry better not slide to 8 or 9

Answer me this......
Do the 49ers win the division if we have Donovan McNabb + 1 first round pick?

Do the 49ers win the division with the 2 first round picks and Alex Smith?

Im curious to know your answers.  I think the answer to the answer to the first question is a resounding YES, and the answer to the second question is a small maybe.  Id trade the pick.  No questions asked.

Pretty much agree with everything here.
as for backup RB, I think we need to draft an athlete who was a stud in college and just hope that gore tutors him
BTW I think that if we are to draft a rb, we need a player who is physically similar to gore ( short, quick, strong) because the way our oline has been the past few yrs there is no way a bigger framed rb will have success in SF.

i'll concede that mcnabb + 1 > dos uno's in 2010-11. but even if the niners with mcnabb are a better team than the niners with smith, i don't think either team has a chance for trophy #6. on the other hand, in 3-4 years that #1 pick could be a franchise cornerstone, while mcnabb could be in street clothes (this is all wild conjecture on my part). for immediate impact, yeah mcnabb is better, i just don't think it's worth the trade

This McNabb talk needs to end. McCloughbum and Singletary have already gone on record and said Alex Smith would be our starting QB for next year.

It isn't in our GMs blood to take a chance like that, therefore we keep the 2 picks and add talent to this roster.

I'm for picking Spiller @ 13

Then @ 17 we can go after Trent Williams and plug him right now at RT.

Realize this guys, this draft is DEEP with OL and CB/S help.
