for all of us with informed opionions; please never post in an nba thread again.
some of us have actually these people play,we dont just throw random names out of the 80-90's together and call it a list.
1. your idea of big men is a 3.

2. magic was a point guard

3. if this is a list of best passing 3's, penny needs to be much lower. and where is oscar?

4. Bron doesn't belong here. nor will he be. this for better passer, not best assist numbers.

5. The Hick belongs as #1.

6. and if this is real big men; where is webber, sabonis, shaq (triple teams are tough), walton, vlade, or kg?

I was going for players who could play small forward and up, non guards. I know Magic is known as a PG, but he could play any position.

Love how you mention in #4 that it isn't about numbers, but then in #6 you basically just mention the PF/Cs (since you misunderstood what I was going for) with the highest assist averages. It's not all about numbers, but you best believe most if it is. What makes John Stockton so highly regarded? Because he put up insane assist numbers. His assists weren't that flashy and compared to Jason Williams who averaged half the assists Stock did, they're even boring. And LeBron's assists aren't particularly flashy either, but he gets a lot of them. He finds the open man and gets the job done. I'm not upset if you rank Bird higher, 3 years ago I would've definitely done the same, but now I'm giving Bron a slight edge.

Lebron's passing is incredible - I remember seeing that live in one of his first few seasons and he could just thread the ball through improbable gaps.

And this comparison is actually quite good - Larry had the same ability - bounce passing down the lane in traffic straight to his teammates hands.

In a few years the argument will be over who has the worst toupe though.

as much as i hated larry bird. he is clearly a better passer. passing in traffic behind his legs, his back, you name it larry legend has it all. he to me is probably magics equal in passing ability. what made him such a deadly passer was his because hes a threat from the perimeter then suddenly find someone down in the paint. larry is just unreal IMO

I've only seen clips and highlights of Bird so its hard to compare.  LBJ's greatest ability is his passing IMO.

At worst, it's very, very close I'd suspect.

statute of limitations on NT is about 20 years... so anything earlier than 1991 is TOO early.....

As someone old enough to have watched Bird play...and I mean the mid 80s MVPs Bird and not the broken down 90s version...I would have to go with Bird. I think there's a differences in the eras and styles. Lebron does his best passing when running an offense and drawing & kicking. Bird did that without pounding the ball for most the shot clock and did it more often. Of course it helps being surrounded by Mchale, Parrish, Ainge & DJ but that was the better team ball era.
