It's been 3 years for me. I have to go back eventually

What kind of insurance do you have? My cleanings are free every 6 months, I don't mind them at all.

were your teeth that bad? maybe you should find a new place?  I got my first teeth cleaning since 2001 last year and after a few "calcium" scrapes to a few of my back teeth, I was good to go.  Good teeth hygiene

If you keep your teeth well taken care of it isn't as bad, and the more often you go in the better. I didn't go in for one year and I went in for a cleaning, ended up leaving with two fillings getting redone and two root canals. Smh.

every six months > every 5 years

it's not even that bad if you get your teeth clean every six months... I still %%#! bricks sitting in the dentist chair though

Everyone builds up plaque at different rates, but this being the first time in 5 years, I would expect it to be pretty bad.

I can barely talk and my entire mouth is sore. I haven't had a cleaning in almost 5 years and it was horrible. They scraped my gums away and my entire mouth was bloody.

And the sad part is I now have to get a cleaning every 6 months at that hell hole.

Cleaning every 5 years? Your grill must look like Amy Winehouse's

.  POOR.

I get cleaned by my dentist every 6 months, it's recommended.

I would actually appreciate it if they did it more often like every 3 months. I do it every 6 months ever since I was a kid.

OP your an idiot, you didn't get a normal cleaning. Since you haven't been getting cleanings (in 5 years) and haven't been flossing, you got a DEEP CLEANING and SRP, which is when they scale and scrape the plaque and calculus off your teeth and your roots (which are under your gums FYI). If you keep your hygiene proper, you won't need this anymore and every 6 months all you need is a regular cleaning with no root scaling, it's easy after this cleaning, just keep flossing and brushing.

i havent went to the dentist in like 4 years. i have no cavities or nothing but i know as soon as i walk in the gonna pull my wisdom teeth. i aint about that life.

im shook for real.

had appointment and didnt show up. prolly going to reschedule one during spring break since im not going anywhere.

getting ya wisdom teeth pulled ain't !%!@, it's the aftermath you should worried about lol

once they inject my gum with that num thing, I couldn't feel a thing. my bum dentist didn't even warned me when she was gonna pull out my teeth, she just yanked them out and I didn't even feel it, I thought she was just examining my gums before the pulling

I always thought cleaning every 6 months was the norm. This thread makes me think otherwise.
