DELL's Employee Price Program (EPP) a ripoff?

I want an Alienware M11x, but it seems to me that Dell doesn't give any employee discount.  They give you a mark up?  I don't understand this...  EPP Price is $1069 and regular Dell price is $800?

I went through the same thing when I was thinking of buying a Dell, I could never figure it out. I was supposed to get a discount through my dad's company, but on the EPP page the prices were higher, and the computers didn't seem to be upgraded.
