Just a few things that I'm looking for. I like slim straight leg, kinda like levi 514 or tapered like levi 521. Also I don't want any type of stitching on the pockets and I want a dark color wash. My budget is anything <200. I was thinking about APC but just wanted to get some more recommendations.

Any help would be great, thanks

i believe APC raised their prices from the original 130-140.  APC is great for starting out and the price seems upped to $175 (via context)
there's always cheaper comparable alternatives though, check out rag and bone, acne, and similar brands in your price range (they don't have pocket stitching and should have dark washes)

Thanks man.
I'm actually gonna go with Naked & Famous.
Revolve gives 30% off to new customers so they'll only be 95 bucks

I dunno about machoism or whatever, but I really like my nudies. I only have a pair and they haven't busted in the crotch area, but I wear them the most.

My APCs need to be hemmed, but the fit on them aren't as comfortable.

Hello all. New to this thread but I have been reading as much as possible to try and make informed decisions. Figured I would ask. I've been wearing Luckys and Buckle brand jeans for the longest but I'm looking for something with a bit more quality. I'm 6ft, 160lbs. Not looking for the skinny kid jeans but wouldn't mind something a bit more straight legged or slim-straight. I was looking at 514s (like the Raw Headbanger Rigids) and thinking that's a fit I could try out. Not looking to spend more than like $125. I don't get to wear them often since I'm in uniform 5 days out of the week. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Dont want to go through the thread but are there some reputable sites to get some denim at discounted prices?

Retiring my flat heads today...a sad day indeed....at least 4 years dedicated wear..they served me very well R.I.P.

Thanks, I love them to death, and they do have a ton of life left...But I think the poor folks at self edge are getting tired of repairing them

Contemplating starting a new pair.  Kiya, any suggestions (of similar cut?)

Do any of you get your denim tailored? I live in a small town, and was wondering if this is a simple task (want to make some jeans slimmer) I been debating whether or not to do this for a long %!! time now. Tailored clothes look better in general, but I just don't want to ruin any of my jeans.

I mean the whole point of getting them tailored is to fit you perfectly, how would this work?

I haven't actually had any jeans in about 2 years and they were cheap Old Navy ones that weren't good. This week I decided to sphash out and spent about $120 on some Timberland jeans (expensive in the uk) but I got the long length because they fit better - but are about 3" too long.

I took them to my local guy who does a fine job hemming regular pants but about 30 mins later I began to think it was a bad idea so went back to get them - but he'd already cut them.

2 things I suppose - I haven't washed them so hope the length will be okay but the main thing is that he said that he could make them look like they are now by reusing the original hem. Does that actually look any good?

I've always wondered why they can't just hem jeans like they are out of the factory. I found a guy locally who is a denim specialist who has an overlocker which looks a nice job. I guess it might be an expensive lesson and I'll do it right next time. I guess they might turn out okay but now I have to wait until Monday to find out.
if the timberland jeans are dry, expect the length to shrink
i'm sure your guy won't steer you wrong though, just see how it turns out and keep us updated; hopefully everything works out
I got away with it - he did a pretty decent job and you have to look hard to see the join.

They are a bit long but I haven't washed them yet so that's not a problem - and actually I've been wearing them as they are and they look fine.

^ I like Prps raw barracuda better. Has a real nice slim fit with a good taper going down from the knees. Im about to cop a white raw to go along with my black. I wish I could find a raw blue pair though, then I would be set.

I have a pair of Barracudas too but I think the Ramblers look better overall especially with shoes/sneakers

My N&F Weird Guys just came in. First pair of nice denim, should I soak them first or what?
I'm really trying to avoid crotch blowout. It happened the the selvedge pair I got from Gap a while back and just threw them out.
What can I do to avoid that?

X post from Dressing Better.
NF Weird Guy. I think I caught the bug, really want to grab a pair of black Diors now
