Wearing my Naked and Famous Weird Guys right now, just my 2nd wear but they're fitting way more comfortably already, sized down just 1 because I wasn't trying to have them suffocate me even after they stretched.

If you buy from SE or BiG, they can hem for you for free. And how the hell does a tailor fail so bad that the leg opening gets bigger from a hem

i have the same issue w/ denim inseams as well, hemming them is the only option. my problem is that the hem/cuff never looks like it did before. they end up looking like khakis or chinos at the bottom. any way to solve this? and is there any reason in particular that most selvage jeans are long inseams like 34+?

that would be because the leg opening gets smaller as it goes down to your ankles (assuming you're talking about tapered fit jeans). hemming jeans would have the leg opening higher than the original position, thus making it have a bigger leg opening.
when you ask to get jeans hemmed, it would be smart to also ask the tailer to try to keep the original leg opening size by tapering it slightly.

cocotaso: most raw denim brands have such long inseams because it cuts down production time. at least that's what i was told. it would be a hassle to produce jeans in multiple inseam lengths, so 34+ has pretty much been the standard mold for brands.

Exactly. That was the problem. Has anyone ordered from SE and had their jeans hemed? Do they taper the leg opening or leave it wider?

I believe you can ask them, and it won't be a problem for SE.

also cocotaso, SE does chainstitching, which would fix up that problem you're having with your jeans looking like khakis at the bottom. not many tailors have a chainstitching machine readily available, so that's why you encounter that often.

If you want great jeans and tailored (If you want), Strivers Row & Company is the business....Range from $275 to $600, depending on your style or if you want it tailored.

Once a year we drop prices 30% to 60% off retail on remaining sizes of items that are not going to be restocked.

Most of these items we only have one size left, but if it’s you’re size you’re in luck.

All sales are final on these items due to the heavy discount, and as always worldwide shipping is free.

Sale prices are not retroactive for past purchases.

To be honest, I have no idea... I just don't want the people working on my jeans to wash it, and put a patch over it... I just want them to stitch it closed.

Most companies will send you a piece of denim, I plan on taking mine to the tailor tomorrow. And make sure they don't wash it.

New Things & Restocks from Flat Head, Dry Bones, Self Edge, & More...

Some new items have rolled into our stores and in our online store.

We've just received a full restock of jeans from Flat Head along with a new model, the 3009 straight leg jean. The 3009 jean uses Flat Head's 3XXX denim with new heavy weight silkscreened pocket-bags. Along with the jean restock and the 3009 we've gotten a restock of all wallets and silver accessories by Flat Head and Wild Child.

We sold out of the Dry Bones eyewear line far faster than we thought we would, we've gotten a restock of all models including a new model, the marbled acetate frames. Along with the glasses Dry Bones has done a leopard pattern vinyl back-pack. Pretty wild, it's a day brightener.

From the Self Edge line we've done a new version of the Shrade Made in USA line of knives, the Stockman knife has three damascus blades and is produced in the only remaining pocket-knife factory still operating in the US.

From Strike Gold we've received a full restock of the 1105, 1109, and mud-dyed weft 2109 jeans along with their black and tan belts. This brand has turned into a store favorite, they're doing great things with the fabrics and fits, we're very into it.

A full restock of all Iron Heart jean, belt, and jacket/vest models are now available at all stores. We're getting the second half of this large restock next week at all stores, so if you're size is sold out, we'll have more next week.

Men's File 05 is now available in our online store and at all stores, the best issue yet from our favorite men's magazine.

Dude really didn't want to use the patch I got, I do plan on getting a new pair soon so it wasn't a big deal to me

SelfEdge hooks it up with the crotch blowout on jeans.

Any one got anything new?? I want to see some new jeans.

in the market for my first pair of quality raw denim.

im a man with big hips and sz 38 in levis.

was looking into sharp bengt nudies but they only have a sz 38 x 34. would it be a hassle to get them hemmed into a 38 x 30?

also, any other brands recommended for bigger folks around the waist?

Just got these Iron Heart's SEXIH07.  I have never worn this brand, but they get good review and the price was right.
Anyone currently working on a pair?

man, i hate to do this to yall...but I got the infamous question yall keep getting(I'm sure of it).

I'm slowly getting into raw denim. I got a "starter" pair, el cheapo joints. They're the lrg true straight raw indigo. I purchased them off of karmaloop size 32x32.

With that being said I feel like I want to jump up the ante a little and go with nudie jeans...and then to iron hearts.

i just measured up my current jeans according to iron hearts "how we measure" guide.

they measure 17 across, or 34inches total around the waist. They started out baggy, which i liked, but now they're a little too big for comfort.
-with that measurement do you think I should go with a 30 or a 31? I bought them @ 32 and now they're a 34??? I'm a legit, true 30, but 31 seems ideal cause 30 cuts into my skin.

they measure 9 3/4 inches with the central raise. to me they're ideal.

thigh measures at 12 1/2 inches

knee is 9 1/2 inches

cuff is 7 1/2 inches

the measurements are probably not perfect, but its a real close measurement. My main two concerns are the waist and the cuff. the cuff is perfect for my nike dunk high top sbs and jordans..and the waist could go down an inch or maybe more.

I do admit the jeans could be a little smaller in size, but I'm not exactly looking for skinny jeans. I'm not scene. infact I like a little baggy look to my attire.

first choice:

nudie average dry dirt organic - 31/32

maybies:
sharp bengt dry dirt organic - 31/32
hank rey???

as far as iron hearts go... well...I'd rather get down the nudies first before I drop that $$

if I currently wash my lrg jeans, will they shrink? I'm in the military so I can't exactly wear them EVERYday, but its the only denim I currently own. I've had them probably 5 months?

any help would be perfect! I know yall get a lot of these questions, but I avtleast laid down a solid foundation with measurements...and choices...as apposed to just a question.

Just started on my IH301S a little over a month ago...

my petit standards are kinda too baggy fitting how should i get it tailored? i got my UO skinny fit tailored but its kinda too short now. Ill try to get fit pics soon.

Dooftard, I say get APC new standard fit. It's not skin tight and you still have a little bagginess. Just size down one because the waist will stretch.

Nice denim here everyone. I'm in the market for a new pair of denim and I would like some recommendations. I'm looking for something that fits the closest to a regular fit evisu X puma.

And I've owned everything from APC NS's, Nudies slim jims and rrds and they just don't fit like those evisu X pumas did for me.
