Detroit in 2019

Whats it like in 2019? I left in 2011, right before the white hips started moving back in and Dan Gilbert bought up downtown? Has it really changed like the media would make you believe (whole foods moving in)? Detroit always had the best style, has it changed to blouses and dad shoes like NYC, and LA? When I left it was still prada high tops, tru's, polo v neck, and buffies with a fur in the winter. Gucci and ferragamo shoes and belts of course too. Have the whites changed everything and have the clothes changed to be like NYC and LA (blouses and dad shoes)?
Thoughts?

Only things I heard about Detroit before in terms of style were those cartier buffs and Al Wissam leathers

Someone pull up those pics comparing Detroit to Hiroshima. The very Hiroshima that got nuked on compared to motor city

Ain’t **** changed.... scat packs and hell cats on every corner. Pradas turned into every other popular high end shoe. Buffs still on top, jeans got slimmer music got better.

- The D has come a lllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg way in a very short period of time; keep it up, godspeed!

- Give them another 15 - 30 years and, at least its downtown, should be where they were (not as far as population) before W.F. ravaged the city and many / most other relevant and credible American Midwest / NE cities -- despite the suppressive efforts of a country that is anti-urban, on the whole.

(Fully highlights the dramatic renaissance of Detroit's downtown -- Bravo! 8))

Cheapest in Cali around 60k

I haven’t looked in a couple years I just know u see scats and cats more than any other car in the world here. It’s like a 50 man crew that ride around annoying people every weekend.
Y’all do sideshows in Detroit???

Was there last year. Was surprised of the east coast feel (Not at all a midwest town imo) The downtown at least seems on the trend up, condos that were 50-80k in dowtown area 5 years ago were going for 250+........

With all the money Chase is pouring in + Quicken and the new Wings stadium, I would buy property downtown if I could.

That’s around the time my sister lived around the corner from Motown. Even then stuff was changing. Gentrification at its finest, or worst.

It’s filled with the same folk that claimed 313, but grew up in the burbs.

I’m not even mad at that though. I’m just talking about a specific type of person, basically a gentrifying white. The type that rides bikes, eats vegan, always protesting something and talks about safe spaces.

Big difference in them and some kid from downriver moving to Detroit. Downriver kids aren’t trying to change the culture of the city, gentrifying whites are. Think a downriver kid uses the term safe space?

To be clear I’m not even originally from Detroit, I’m from Huntington, wv.
