I'm gonna be in Detroit in 3 weekends for about 5 days for my boy's wedding. What's good over there as far as clubs or night spots, happy hours, lounges and things like that? I'm talking about the more upscale spots. I don't really like the "hood" night spots. What are the best malls? I'm going to be staying in Troy. Thanks in Advance.

Troy isn't hood at all. The county that your in over there is one of the top counties in America. Somerset and downtown Birmingham are the place for shopping. Somerset is probably one of the best malls in the Midwest.

I dunno about the club scene as I'm not 21 yet... :rolleyes
and I just stick to the bars in AA where legit carding isn't that big of an issue
, but I've heard good things about downtown Novi lately.

Rochester doesn't have clubs so don't bother. Downtown Royal Oak can be pretty good, but I've been hearing that its falling off. No clubs in downtown B-ham. Some hood clubs in Pontiac

Troy is one boring @#%$ place. (I live there). Summerset and Great Lakes are pretty good for shopping. If you want to escape and go hoop, goto the Troy Community Center on Livernois just South of Big Beaver. Birmingham is pretty ritzy and has good food, but kinda expensive. Not old enough for the clubs so I can't help you with that.

Hope I could help.

oakland mall is a disgrace.

like everyone said, if you're plannin to just chill somerset has nice shopping. downtown birmingham is about 10 mins away and has good shopping as well. there are a bunch of places to eat in the troy/birmingham area. downtown detroit is a pretty good place to chill, especially during/after tigers games. there are nice clubs downtown (not too "hood", more grown).

if you're down for poker, i would advise you to head to casino windsor in canada. the casino is extremely nice as a whole as well.
