as some who saw da thread born from day one (da bigger da better is my motto
) ill give credit where credit is due.sais 9 was one of da cats that thrived on that platform...however
without dirtylicious and his absolute hatred of da WDYW in da beginning, it would've never caught on da way it did.

da wdyw post was one that was created out of certain NTers in nike retro that were unsure of how certain sneakers would look in jeans and appeal casually. not to be deterred, someone posted
a pic of themselves wearing da kicks, from da ankles down. others posted entire shots of their fit (which were then roasted to death because da horrible outfits) which then created
massive lulz all around, da thread preceded da other massively unintentional funny thread (da post your pic) by a few years.
GIANT post that started to gain more and more popularity, much to da dismay of a certain mod with a hankering for ninja slipper looking nikes which
shall me renamed anonymous..
anywho after numerous locks, restarts, locks, bans, restarts, bans, etc. dirtylicous drew tired of his duties as moderator of da nike retro section with such a big thread that "didn't
fit da criteria of nike retro" since in his opinion da rest of your outfit was irrelevant to da retro sneakers you wore, also you take into da account that back then when threads were HUGE
da number consolidation system for big thread EX: "jump to thread ____" didn't exist yet so each thread number took more and more and more space until it became unbearable for him. one day
he grew tired of it and just completely banished da fledging WDYW posts into da mercy of a da General forum....to die

back then da general forum was even MORE hostile to sneaker related topics as it was now, so everything that went to general was that even smelled like a sneaker topic was
there at its peril, you literally had everyone that was a OG hood talkers that still weren't banned from niketalk swimming in general, creating havoc (back then da monthly wait wasnt implemented yet)
so it was a cold unforgiving world to whoever wandered. then out of nowhere *poof* as dirty used to say, he introduced da wolves of general to a juicy steak filled with da poor noobie souls
just wanting to show what they purchased, wear and display their new pick ups, and still somewhat stay low key...lol, ahh i still laugh at da mayhem they began once that thread appeared
in general for da first 5 mins.... it was a lulz orgy or bloodbath carnage depends on who you ask. :x:
after da sharks, wolves, and vultures picked apart da carcasses of da vulnerable noob NTers that weren't ready for that general forum life, methodman brought da hammer on those that
lay waste to da innocent...then it was silent for weeks at all da fallen vets who couldn't resist chompin down at da expense of da weaklings.... (back then their was NO I$$, no NSB, hypebeast
da word wasn't even spawned yet, and cool kicks were selling variants) so imagine all da young sheep and lamb sneaker heads torched in da flames of NT general...
whoever was left, shook off da dust, licked their wounds, and pleaded to methodman to let them continue their WDYW post...methodman with his massive paragraphs and adjectives
basically said " *sigh* very well....blah blah blah...code of conduct...blah blah blah...violated will be banned...blah blah blah... niketalk is for everyone, not da elite few..blah blah blah..save
da trees..blah blah blah..ill be watching, peace."
so *poof* just like that, da WDYW post is born, and it spawns a few very known household names, and soon it was da most popular thread on da entire niketalk site. it many ways
it acted like da thread about nothing, detailing and forecasting what members were doing and what day were wearing daily, and even on special events and days. but in many ways
it became it victim of its own success. da bigger da thread got da more page numbers it created and da bigger da eye sore it became on da old EZboard, smaller threads were wiped
out on page 20 (after page 20 a thread would automatically delete and fall off da face of da earth forever) and people began to complain. their were no rule in da thread either.
so if someone was diggin a person's fit, quote pyramids became da norm, increasing even more sodium levels.
when Methodman moved us to our former allies Yuku, da first thing his did was move da WYDW post out of general, and into a brand new expanded section we now know as "sneaker showcase"
with da sub titles "Home of da WDYW post!" (he apparently grew tired of it in general since its introduction in general was basically pouring gas to a campfire)
as similar forums were born they basically took da WDYW post and swagga jacked it for their own benefit, it was definitely born here.
give a hand to dirty, if it wasn't for him moving it to general, da "idea" would've never been forged thru fire da way it did, made stronger, and thrive.

imagine every page number spralled out (page 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1000,1001,1002)
with EVERY number showing.
it was great so you didn't lose your place (and older clicked pages were grey, newer ones were colored red)
but as da forum grew it became a eye sore.
da jump to page system and da brand new "view last post" has effectively replaced da old system with tools that work da same way together.
