Yo,

I'm sitting here listening to Dipset, as I do most days, but specifically ALL day every 9/11 and I got to thinking....

Dipset was bold as hell in the early 2000's.  Lyrics especially.... They had absolutely no remorse for 9/11....

'I ain't mad that the towers fell, I'm mad the coke price went up and the crack won't sell' ~Juelz

'I worship the late profit, the great Muhammed, Omar Atta for his courage behind the wheel of that plane, reminds me of when I was dealing the caine.' ~ Juelz

They had a legitimate cult following (well, they still do but it was tenfold the strength then) from 2000-2005, a gang of people under their influence who would die for them, they openly called themselves 'Taliban,' and took multiple raw bars at 9/11.  The government could have easily  seen them as a terrorist organization...I'm surprised they are still around to speak.

OG ISIS

Times were mad diff back then too.  They need a full chapter in all history books after 2010 to be about Dipset, their music, their following, their humor, their antics, and their overall significance on CULTURE in general.

Naw, Juelz and Cam said in an interview YEARS ago that they never supported terrorism in any regard, esp. that of the actions taken upon the US at the time... I believe the interview was in this Source article:

They used the term 'Taliban' because they wanted to mimic the militaristic/rebellious style that the Taliban carried out with their music, with the notion that they would ride for whatever they believed in... similar to what they thought that the Taliban was about...

Cam's verse on 'I'm Ready' was recorded before 9/11, if I'm not mistaking...

"Ground Zero" >>>>>>>>> *

Yea his I'm ready verse was before 9/11...still got the version without the edit

Cam is a prophet

I always thought it was pretty wild that they were doing that.

Speaking of, that portion of juelz's verse on I Love You is still quite solid.

It was just horrible, disrespectful **** rappers say for shock value in their rhymes to come off as against the grain and therefore cool. Nothing more to it.

It's very typical amongst Harlem ******. I knew that ever since Big L said "**** all the glamours and glitz, I plan to get rich
I'm from New York and never was a fan of the Knicks"

**** had me like :eek Opened my eyes to the idea dudes could be living in NYC and not be a fan of the team (whether they sucked or not at the time and they didn't suck at the time) but want to go be fans of other teams.
