Im thinking about making the switch to Satellite and wanted to see which one is better. I can get Sunday ticket thru my PS3 so that will not factor into my decision.

I've had both and comcast. My favorite overall has been DirecTV because the always gave me better DVR's than Dish Network.

In terms of service and picture, I'd say they are pretty much the same. I enjoyed both on my Pioneer Kuro. I have comcast now and often miss satellite as it's always been more responsive when using the interface or changing channels.

Ive had DirecTV for 3 months now and love it. Have had no issues at all. My parents have had it for a while and they like it also.

it is a factor.

NFL:ST through the satellite means you get it in perfect crisp HD.

NFL:ST through PS3 can get a touch choppy and grainy at times.  I have cable at my place because my cable is provided through my HOA, therefore I am forced to go the PS3 route for Sunday Ticket.  The quality is noticably worse.

I'm using directv....but I barely watch TV. The UI interface is nice, but getting certain channels can be annoying.

I think DirecTv's interface is much better than Dish. Though I'm using Dish bc it's cheaper.

My family and I have had directv for about 5 years now...

There's a reason why we haven't switched to dish or cox.... (with the exception of cox internet)

And to top that off we're paying $78.00 for 2 hd receivers and 2 standard def receivers...

I had DirecTV, Dish and U-Verse. DirecTV and U-verse were both great but DirecTV wins with Sunday Ticket.

Fresh, if you got FiOS in your area, go with that.

Personally, I wouldn't mess w. anything (especially DirecTV) with a satellite dish.
