So in the morning I'm doing my work and got the cam site going on my phone but nobody knows because my phone is on my lap and I hear my supervisor yelling something to my coworkers... My coworkers were speaking to each other in spanish and my supervisor says no spanish here only english...She said I shouldn't have to repeat myself because she told them 2 days ago also....My supervisor was like ya its against company policy.... Is my supervisor even allowed to do that or is this discrimination? I know one thing she shouldn't be calling out my coworkers in front of everyone instead should tell them in her office how she feels... Anyone experience something like this before? Please elaborate. thanks

Read your company handbook....i highly doubt that its "against company policy"
but theres really no law against discriminating on language from my knowledge.

the problem with ppl speaking in another language is that those who dont know it might think they're talking **** about coworkers

it's just easier for the whole operation if everyone speakes one language

Not allowing the speaking of another language is crazy.

That's like making whispering against the rules.

He can't file a lawsuit..he has no legal standing. If OP isn't Spanish, or wasnt speaking Spanish with the workers, HE has no case.

And OP..mind ya business my guy. (Not trying to be rude or anything) You might end up being the ***** getting fired. If you call HR on your office, papi no snitch, and you gon look like the boy why cried wolf. So fall back

why are yall so worried about me though? im not going to do jack because this isnt about me and im just watching from the background... i just went to NT to ask a legitimate question because it seems like a good discussion... i dont speak spanish btw...

But why is it assumed that two people speaking in their native language means they're talking negative about people who work there?

My girls manager is the same way. Everyone who works at her branch knows Spanish except the manager so she gets peeved off whenever they talk it around her. She even call out my girl on it a few times

I think some companies just discourage people from speaking other languages in the work setting WHILE WORKING
Like someone said earlier that could alienate people who don't speak the language
I don't trip when people at my job do it but it can be a lil irritating when u constantly hear it in ur ear and don't know if they talking about u of someone u know or whatever

probably the "stream"
remember watching some live pr0n shoot going on
5 bucks for like 90minutes
