With most of my close friends, depends on the kind of greeting we're used to. It's not really a conscious decision to dap and clutch or just a regular dap/handshake, more of a habit if anything.

I purposely give stiff WASP style handshake now. Noticed non blacks wanna do the clutch and shoulder to seem like they're "down" or "bout it" (direct quotes) and blacks seem to avoid it at work to avoid being seen as "too black" by any higher ups that might be in the area. I just reserve it for family and good friends now.
