the thing about g1 is the headphone port isnt standard. u either use an adapter or the included headphones which suck

I got my TouchPro last October. I'm on my 5th one. I bought my first 60gb IPod Classic in like '06. It was stolen from my car in '08.I upgraded to an 80gb last May and that's what I use now. ZERO problems. IPods are the most durable devices I think I've ever seen honestly. And again,the battery life is unbelievable. My phone's battery life is

I'm not allowed to use my iPhone at work cuz the room is highly secured so we can't have our phones and cameras in there. We are allowed to listen toout iPods so that's why i still Have mine. Plus is 120 gs. so if I ever lose the music on my computer it's all on my iPod to just out back on there.

My Touch Pro2 w/ 16gb microsd not only replaced my T-Mo MDA but also my 30gb iPod Video and my car gps. I dont need my whole music collection at my side. Justa few hundred of my favorite songs + some movies and I'm good.
I listen to my music, play games, browse the web on my school's wifi daily and the lowest my battery has seen is 40%. Even when I'm in my car, thecharger for my gps also works for my TP2 so I can charge it while I listen to music through my car system.
However, like someone else said, I still use my iPod for the gym because it weighs so much less and I got the armband for it.
But to answer your question OP, no. At least for me. Once those 32gb micro cards come it then it'll be that much better.
Though I do wonder what the next step will be after that seeing as how 32gb is the absolute max the micro form can support. Yall think that future smartphoneswill go back to using minisd?

I'll soon have more than 32gb, so yea. Plus with a 120gb iPod, I can store other files on it without having to worry about space.

Got an ipod(bought first about 2 years ago) and just got the iphone. I don't want to hassle with transferring all my music again, and I'd rather hitthe trail/path/gym with my ipod on rather than worrying about my iphone.

Yea I say its necessary. However, that don't mean u have to spend $100+ on an MP3 player (ipod). I spent $43 on a 4gb mp3 player and use it when I shootaround or lift weights or walk around campus. It's convenient because ur phone battery can get drained real quick when u play music on it. Now if ur phoneis good on battery and is good at playin music and calls, I see no reason to have both

Yes, I've got my 80gig classic for movies and music....my commuter Ipod. My phone is just that...a phone. It plays music...but thats only if I forget tocharge the ipod. I also have a 2nd gen shuffle (the lil square clip) that is strictly for working out. Got the shuffle for 22 a while back. It was a refurb.Plus I carry around a PSP in my backpack that I carry to work. If you take a bag to work every day, then i don't see what the big deal is. Oh, and I alsohave a 15 gig 3rd gen Ipod that I use for storing about half of my music collection.
