I like this season, it's got cool stories and it's visually impressive. However i miss the discovering new planets and timelines, and some of the absolute ridiculousness back in the rtd days. These all just feel sort of isolated, and not very exploratory. Like it's all just saving themselves and maybe a few other beings instead of entire civilizations. I miss episodes like when they went back to the year 5 million with the endless highway.

What's the best episode of the series? Who has the best portrayal as the Doctor ? I just finished watching Sherlock Holmes with Cumberbatch and I feel I should give this show a look.
