A lot of times, skateboarding is done on private property. Also, skateboarders are often trespassing and skateboarding on grounds that aren't always open to the public. On top of those, skateboarding can damage property, hence the vandalism. To factor in another issue, owners of the property are NOT trying to be involved in an injury lawsuit. Just like any physical activity, you're going to have a few knuckleheads and those are usually the people who give the public a skewered view of the group. Not to derail thread but why is it illegal to skate?
