I just manage to buy a 42" LG50 for $610 new in box and I was wondering if anyone has it and does if it has any problems I should know?

I think it was a good deal considering that there's no 1080P 42" going for that price unless is DYNEX or INSIGNA or some crap like that ...

Thanks.....

LG manufactures for a few private label "cheaper brands" - so if you do your research you could buy an identical tv for less.

it's a decent tv if the specs are good. I probably wouldn't get a 42" 720 unless you're planning on viewing from a medium distance or justdon't care.

here ya go:

I actually already bought the TV

42LG50 - 1080P

I'm not sure if $610 is super cheap but I think is a good price. It was clearence because it was last years model or a old model period ...

I just plugged it in and it looks find with bunny ears .. I'm getting Direct TV Saturday ..

I was just wondering if it was a good brand ...

That was a good deal. Those are regularly in the 800-900 range. LG makes a good product, although I think they manufacture some of Best Buy's Insignia TVsif I'm not mistaken.

Keep it, you got a deal.

iight thanks for the info ...

I was looking for something that big and 1080P and still havent found anything ...

for that price, you got a great deal. nice pick up, fam.

i just recently got a Samsung 40" LCD TOC for $900.

Homey, plasma generally costs more than LCD.

That could have nothing to do with the brand, and everything to do with the contrast ratio. The lower the contrast ratio, the cheaper the TV is gonna be. Youcan get a 1080p resolution with under $10,000:1 contrast ratio, and thats gonna look like doo doo compared to a 1080p TV with something like a 50,000:1contrast ratio.

you might've been confused when the high school kid at best buy told you "the vizio's are next to the sony's" he was speaking literally.
